Endings are beautiful
In today's Cat Coach Diaries, Princ helps you to understand that endings are the most natural part of life and as such not at all bad!
Hey everyone, Princ here! Today I have a very important message to share. Something I’ve noticed hoomans often struggle with, so chances are you do too. So pay attention as once again, this one might make your life that much happier.
You see, I love summer. Not necessarily hot summers, in fact, hot weather often makes me ill and then I need to go see that man who touches me everywhere as if he EVER asked for permission (as if I would EVER grant it to him). But I do love those warm mornings with fresh air, yet warm enough to enjoy my favorite spot on the balcony without any shivers. I love the evenings even more, when the afternoon sun warms up the evenings and I can lay on the grass way past sunset and nap. Oh, what a joy!
This year, the summer weather has been prolonged to autumn, so I cannot complain one bit. Even though I’ve been enjoying many of my autumn rituals already, I still made sure to enjoy as much of my warm balcony naps as possible. However, I can feel it in my fur now that cold days are indeed coming. Meaning, no more outdoor naps, but rather snuggling inside on warm blankets.
Now, you could think that this makes me sad. To have to abandon my favorite pastime. But the opposite is true.
(Okay, fine, I do complain a little bit when the plants disappear from the balcony and I do chase my hoomans in spring to quickly put them back. But someone needs to make sure things are done in a timely manner.)
In any case though, as much as I enjoyed my summer time, I am not crying over it as the end, or rather the end of the unusually warm autumn, only means the start of something new. And I know there is much to look forward to!
And I’m not talking about all the things I KNOW that are coming up. Like Christmas for example and all that the cycle of the year brings regularly. I mean all the things I DON'T know about. That's even more fun.
I mean, the truth is, I don’t know if there’s gonna be another summer as beautiful as this one, or if I’m going to live to see another. You never know! But that doesn’t make me sad either, because life has always so much beauty in store, so there is no need to be sad about any endings. Next summer can be beautiful in a completely new and unexpected way. And as long as we make sure we pay attention and take it all in, there is no need to be sad.
Because endings only mean that something new is about to start. And that is a very exciting thought.
After all, remember all the endings from the past… it never ended there. You’re still here and you lived through so much since! I’m sure that the things that followed weren’t all bad. In fact, I’m pretty sure some pretty amazing things happened in your life after an ending you were crying about at that point. And I’m also sure, that after those endings you experienced, you were much braver than you thought and managed more than you thought you could… so be proud of yourself and have a little trust in yourself as well as in the future!
Endings don’t mean something bad has happened, endings are the most natural part of life. Winter comes so another spring can occur. Leaves fall so new ones can grow. The sun goes down so it can rise again.
You finish food so you can go hunt for more.
There’s an end to cuddles and play so there can be more play and cuddles to look forward to (or if there has been none today so you can fix that tomorrow and try harder). So yes, endings only mean new starts and new opportunities. And often opportunities to do better.
If today ended as a failure and you didn't manage to jump up that high shelf, tomorrow can be a successful day when you'll jump up even higher or to a different shelf which turns out to be much more fun.
So really, there is nothing to worry about.
Because you’re never "only“ losing, you’re always gaining too. So many opportunities! So much unknown! And trust me, those are all good things. They offer so much freedom and so much adventure.
If you lost a job or you’re closing down a business, or your children just left home and went on to start their own lives, imagine all the new ways you can use your time or all the new things you can build and do for yourself. If you need to move out of your home, imagine how much better you can make your next home! Or if you're leaving a relationship, remember all the great things you can do on your own and the somewhat lost freedom the ending brings.
ANY ending brings this exciting sense of “anything is possible” if you only let yourself see it that way.
So let go of control - leave that up to your cat - and let life surprise you.
Remember, if you’re going through an ending now it only means you’re part of the natural cycle of the world and not a ghost or some object. You have a chance to decide. You have a chance to explore more, build more, play more, and eat more! So much new and exciting food in this world that’s not necessarily labeled as cat food, but if you don’t let that stop you, wow! So much great stuff waiting for you!
Geez, that thought actually makes hungry. So I might just go and explore myself, because last time I checked, my bowls were empty. That said, there is a mysterious box lying around in the hallway…
So see ya later!
You cats are ever so wise and your recent posts seem to be speaking directly to my heart ❤️ Thank you 🐾
Endings only mean that something new is about to start 👍🙌
